DescriptionPhotocopied newspaper clipping from the Wichita Eagle, June 9, 1966; Article reports on the tornado that hit Topeka and Manhattan the night before and describes some of the deaths, injuries and property damage that it caused in both cities; Article also mentions concurrent tornado sightings in the northeast Kansas area; Article states that central Kansas was also heavily impacted by tornadoes, and large amounts of wheat crops were damaged, as well as many rural homes; Article reports that damaging hail storms hit Kansas near Harvey County; Article also states that other areas of the state such as Ellis County had heavy rain that did not do major damage but may actually be beneficial to wheat harvests.
