DescriptionSingle page, typewritten document submitted as part of the "Remember the Topeka Tornado of '66" event held at the Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library on June 3, 2003; tells the personal memories of Lynn Shirley, who was 6 years old in 1966; Shirley was at Washburn University with her parents and brothers for a concert when the tornado hit; they were in the basement but she and her brother were both badly injured by debris; picture of her mother carrying her into the hospital was published in the newspaper and a picture of her father and brother was published in the Life Magazine article about the tornado; include with the document is a scan of the image of Shirley being carried into the hospital
