DescriptionA recollection of Robert C. Snyder's experience during the 1966 Topeka tornado while he was on Washburn campus in Macvicar chapel, a building that was destroyed during the storm. On the front page Robert writes, "To Tarnower's - With lots of luck and love, Snyder's. In his recollection Robert explains how fast the storm came as well as the amount of pressure that everyone felt. He also describes the damage to the building and how the room they were in was only one of two rooms that were not completely destroyed. Jean Tarnower was a part of one of the families present and suffered cuts that required Snyder to drive her to the hospital shortly after the storm had passed. The last page of his recollection lists the families present. This record also includes a typed copy of the recollection as well as two obituary records for Mr.Snyder.
